I collect magazines and so should you.

Below are a few crucial reasons:

Firstly, like the newspaper, magazines are printed regularly, guaranteeing freshness. The only difference is that they are visually stimulating, hand crafted masterpieces. Layout and design is paramount. Collecting magazines is not just about content but about aesthetics.

Secondly, I'm aware that the internet is becoming the King Kong attacking print media. But I, however, refuse to believe it will completely disappear. The future should be a multi-disciplinary arena where both mediums hold hands and consider themselves b.f.f's. Computers are pretty essential, but nothing beats the smell and touch of a crisp new copy of either:

Communication Arts [U.S.], C Magazine [Toronto], Spacing [Toronto], Esse Magazine [Montreal], or i-D [London].

Just a few examples of the magazines hanging around my apartment. Each provide me with an eclectic source of information, but they also reflect my interests in design, art, fashion, and culture.
Thirdly, collecting magazines and consistently reading them [or glancing] become an interactive activity. More often then not the content within a publication leads you elsewhere, whether that means to a website, an exhibit, or a to a new city.

This is why you should collect magazines, because it's fun, fun, fun.
